Additional Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Technical Skills
I am comfortable with all manner of computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet and database (MS Office and others). I am able to quickly learn and begin exploiting the capabilities of a new application.
I have extensive personal experience with the Internet both as a resource and as a social environment. I am familiar with a large number of Internet client packages (and server software) as well as the essential workings of the Internet.
Communication Skills
- My studies in English Literature have left me with an excellent grasp of the English language.
- Some knowledge of the Latin language has necessarily increased my understanding of English, and the workings of language in general.
- I have both the skills and the discipline needed for researching and writing papers at a University level, as well as mored complex documents such as grant proposals.
- I am interested in word-craft in general; I write some fiction, mainly short stories, poetry, and bits of spiritual/philosophic musing in both prose and poetry.
- I have had extensive experience dealing with the public in person, on the phone, and through email.
Analysis, Evaluation, Organization
Readings in Philosophy and an understanding of Logic have enhanced my ability to approach a problem in a rational and ordered manner, as has an interest in science and the scientific method.
I actually enjoy the challenges and frustrations encountered in trouble-shooting and bug-hunting; the answers are always there to be found. Application of knowledge and attention to detail are the keys to unlocking any mystery.
Adaptability
- One of my prime motivations is curiosity. I want to learn. I am able to absorb concepts quickly, enabling me to remember related details with greater facility.
- My scholastic and professional careers have helped to broaden my knowledge base, but I am always in search of experiences, both personal and professional, that will allow me to apply my knowledge in a practical pursuit.
